Wednesday 28 of January

Our day started quite early and the morning was very chilly… -2C degree all over the day.
It is amazing to see how people can breath such a cold air.

Our noses got quite red but the spirit was high.
We took a bus from the Lisum to the train station.
After 40 minutes by train we reached to the beautiful iced Berlin.

We had some minutes of “snow taste” but mainly the weather stayed grey, frozen as it is in this part of the world during January.
In Berlin waited Mr. Peter Clemens, an history teacher from the last year project to guide us.
We went to the German History museum. The students were splited into groups of five mixed students and we had an hour to go around the exibitions.
The students were quite curious and asked lot of questions concerning the history of germany in different times.

After the visit in the museum we splited into two groups: The polish and the Kfar-Karah students went to visited the Ahmadiyya Mosque Berlin .
The guide told about the life of the Turkish community in Berlin and explain to the students how the Islam try to intergrate with the local culture. The guide was very interested to learn about our project.

The other group from Germany and Katzir went to visit the the big Synagoge in Berlin which is located in the former Jewish quarter of Berlin.
The guide, an ex-Israeli explain to the students about the history of the Synagoge since the 17th century, about the religious life of the Jewish local community and how the building , with its rich architecture tried to intergrate with the sorrounding.
The guide also gave us a detailed background of the Jewish community in Berlin from its beginning to nowdays.

After the cultural program we went to the new Alexa mall situated near Alexandra Platz.

The students had two long hours for shoping and fun together.
We came back to the Lisum at 19:30 were a dinner was waiting for us.
Dear parents...in this moment I don´t have more pictures to upload as I was bussy with my eyes looking after your kids :-)
But don´t worry…you´ll see lots of good pictures next Sunday from the students camera
