A letter from Germany

Dear parents of the students participating in the Building Bridges Project 2009,

We have had a partnership between Jewish and German students for ten years.

For some years Polish students from Slubice near Frankfurt and Arab students from Kfar Kara have successfully participated in our project as well.

We think that our partnership is a very intensive one and we are quite proud looking back.

The situation in January 2009 is different to the previous years because of the war in Gaza. We follow the news seriously and inform ourselves thoroughly about the situation in Israel and Palestine.

We think that our meeting is especially important because of the present situation.

You can rely on your children being safe with us.

Our aim is to open perspectives of meeting each other to your children.

Because of politics being full of conflicts we try to find other ways.

We do hope for your support when Jewish, Arab, Polish and German Students meet and try to find out what they have in common.

We are working hard to make your children feel good and welcome and hope for a successful visit in Israel in May 2009.

Please trust the experiences we have gained during the last ten years.

Shalom and Salam

Peter Staffa
